LEARN MORE ABOUT TRAUMA INFORMED PRACTICES

Meet Erin Hughes

Erin Hughes is an ICF-Accredited Certified Somatic Trauma-Informed Coach and Positive Psychology Practitioner with over 25 years of experience as a healthcare practitioner in multi-disciplinary fields. She is a published author, licensed physical therapist, and massage therapist, specializing in orthopedic reconditioning, therapeutic and lymphatic drainage massage. She also holds a certification in personal training from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-CPT) and is a Certified Menopause Coaching Specialist. Erin has also recently become certified as an EDIT Eating Disorder Recovery Coach, using her training to assist women in midlife with disordered eating challenges. Her unique background and approach blend clinical insight with deep, compassionate coaching to guide individuals through the often overwhelming transitions of midlife.

With a foundational background in somatic therapies such as physical therapy and massage, along with advanced training in trauma-informed and positive psychology coaching methods, Erin has supported countless individuals in navigating both physical and emotional health challenges. Over the years, she observed that many of her patients were not just struggling with medical issues, but also with unresolved trauma, identity shifts, and life stage transitions that traditional healthcare rarely addressed.

Recognizing this gap, Erin became certified as a trauma-informed coach, allowing her to support clients with greater sensitivity to nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and long-standing patterns rooted in early life experiences. Today, she helps women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s rediscover meaning, rebuild confidence, and regain joy, whether through career and relational changes, health challenges, or personal reinvention.

Erin’s coaching style is warm, grounded, and empowering. She integrates somatic tools, mindfulness practices, and evidence-based strategies to create a safe space for clients to explore their inner world and take courageous action in their outer lives.

Her mission is to help midlife feel less like a crisis and more like a powerful opportunity for growth, healing, and renewal. In every coaching session, Erin brings a deep respect for the complexity of the human experience and a commitment to walking alongside her clients as they navigate their unique midlife journey.

When she's not coaching, Erin enjoys travel, reading (self-improvement books of course), mindfully moving her body, and spending time with her military family. She is currently based in Japan and works with clients across the world via virtual sessions.
